Real Sociedad Fotografica (RSF), one of Spain's noted photo institutions, is holding an exhibition for local fans under the themes ``Yesterday'' and ``Today'' at Insa Art Center through Nov. 24.
More than 50 photos by 40 photographers under the wing of RSF will be on display. The institution boasts a 110-year history.
스페인의 사진학원중의 하나인 RSF가 어제와 오늘이라는 주제로 인사아트센타에서 11월 24일 부터 전시를 갖고 있다. RSF의 날개로 불리는 40명의 사진작가가 50여점의 사진을 전시하게 된다. 이 학원은 110년의 역사와 전통을 자랑하고 있다.
The exhibition will not only offer distinctive works by some of Spain's most famous photographers, but also a range of Spanish photos from the 1900s to today. Korean visitors will get to witness the artistry, tradition and evolution of Spain's photography at the event.
이전시는 스페인의 가장 저명한 사진작가들의 탁월한 작품을 선보일 뿐만아니라 1900년대에서 현대에 이르는 광범위한 스페인의 사진예술을 보여준다. 한국의 방문객들은 이벤트로 전통과 진화의 스페인 예술의 진수를 맞보게 될 것이다.
The exhibition is free of charge. For more information, call (02) 736-1020. Among the many photographers to have their works on display at the event, some of the most famous are Jose Frisuelos, Fernando Maquieira and the late Jose Ortiz Echague. Frisuelos has been taking photographs ever since he was a student and he owns his own professional photo laboratory called ``Daylight.'' Maquieira, one of Europe's leading documentary photographers, has worked on various documentaries, advertisements and films. Ortiz Echague is one of the most famous photographers in Spain and has won numerous awards and prizes for his distinctive work called ``carbon al fresson,'' a technique where photos are made to look like paintings through blurry lines and soft texture. The Real Sociedad Fotografica Photographers' Invitational will be held at Insa Art Center, Gwanhun-dong, northern Seoul, through Nov. 24. sanghee@koreatimes.co.kr |
