Aki gallery, as the only one gallery managing European contemporary art in Taiwan, promotes Taiwanese artists successfully to the international market. In 2012 Art Taipei, Aki gallery will present well-known photography artist, Chao-Liang Shan, and Chan-Peng Lo, who gains many international market’s attention in recent years, and Cornelius Völker, a German contemporary art master, and Chih-Hung Kuo and Yih-Han Wu, two emerging artists living and working in Germany. Also, Siuan Yu, Chan-Tao Lee and Chien-Chiang Hua are must-see highlights this year.

Chao-Liang Shan, won the International Photography Award for the first prize of documentary photography and the second prize of Independent Publishing  award in 2012 by his《TSUKIJI FISH MARKET》, will exhibit 《STAGE》and《Taiwanese Vaudeville Troupes》. These two series works drew viewers’ eyes by its magical colorful stage and its unique depiction about the local culture of Taiwan. Chao-Liang Shan are invited to America, Canada, France, Spain, and other Asian countries, and also participates Singapore Photography Festival in recent days. Chan-Peng Lo will show his latest works this year. In the meantime, Lo is planning to exhibit works in Los Angeles next year!!

Besides, Aki gallery will bring another extraordinary German Artists, Cornelius Völker, who starts to paint from 1990 and has challenged and explored the possibilities of different aspects of art over the past twenty years, receives many international well-known awards according to his diverse works, such as Lingen Art Prize and Bergischer Kunstpreis. He was also invited to exhibit in the museum of Europe, such as Kunstverein Freiburg, the earliest association promoting contemporary art in Germany. On the other hand, Chih-Hung Kuo and Yih-Han Wu, emerging artists living and working in Germany, drew lots of attention this year. They examine the relation between photography and painting, and create a totally different atmosphere compared with other Taiwanese artists.

Finally, Siuan Yu’s extremely delicate ultra-realist style applied in the paintings and objects challenge viewers’ visual perception. Cha-Tao Lee creates his own unique mock atmosphere and strengthens the distinction between the content and his description manner. Chien-Chinag Hua presents a new series works in which a metaphor of slander will be uncovered even though it is under the protection of religion.
